Many become used to old things, I know people who collect things, one friend in particular collects old programs, he has several external hard-drives, this is due to him never trowing anything away.
Now, obviously this even with today's 1Terabyte drives still becomes an issue since instead of burning them to DVD he keeps the programs on the drives.
Buying new drives as he goes along.
When asked why he don't burn them to DVD he said perfectly logically, I don't write on the disks so I cant find the one I need when I need it!
People when using windows XP have become accustomed to the way the OS works.
When Vista came, Microsoft made several mistakes, most noted the failure of having drivers to everything ready at launch. Vista I have used for a good while now, I like it.
When windows 7 was coming out in a pre-beta, I jumped on it, I simply just enjoy new stuff.
The reason I like windows 7 (w7) are for the following reasons,
- They changed the approach to how they make the new windows.
- They build it upon the current OS (Vista) which also make sure drivers written for Vista will most likely work for windows 7 without a hitch.
- They changed the certification criterion to have the logo for w7.
- They aimed to improve on a good foundation and at the same time make w7 more user friendly and COOL. (The WoW factor might actually become true, however late.)
Media player, the sound are now adjusted to programs you might use, I found a setting where you can pre-listen to your media files, if you play a song, and have a new CD, and look at the songs, and wonder what ones to add to your play album, you can hover your mouse over the music file, w7 plays the new file, and as fast you move the mouse away, the song you played earlier continue to play where you was!
Neat.
This is also the same as playing music, when skype is activated and you answer your call, as you do, the sound of your music drops 80% and you can talk normally to whoever called you without touching the sound knobs.
Neat.
Using dual screens, I already enjoy the enlarge windows, in my web browser, I often move windows from one screen to another, and now I simply drag it, and then move it to the top of of my screen and then it fills the whole screen.
Neat.
So, small things, as the taskbar, with colors changing using them are also neat.
I look forward to the touch screens. Having one at the side would be great, since that would fasten and enhance the windows interaction.
W7 seems more snappier and works well even as a pre-beta.
